I took it to Apple and everything checked out ok, except for the battery. One day it shut down and would start but get stuck in a boot loop and never start all the way up. Rating: 5/5 This Replacement Battery Kit Was Perfect and Brought my 2015 MBP Back To Life After it was Stuck in a BOOT LOOP! AugI have a fully loaded 2015 MBP and it's a great workhorse machine.

If you do choose this vendor, set a calendar event to check the battery before the warranty expires, or you're out of luck no matter, even it it's a day. For all the hassle it is to replace a battery in a MacBook Pro, it would be better to choose another vendor with a longer-lasting product. When I called them, just out of warranty, the staff was friendly with a kind of "bummer, dude" attitude, but would not replace the product. Just happened to be in the computer doing another operation when I noticed the swelling. MacBook Pro was used with separate keyboard and mouse, so I didn't notice that the battery had swelled to the point that the trackpad couldn't be used.
Never left with power attached when not used. Always correctly maintained per Apple recommendations. Rating: 1/5 I would not recommend this product! I had purchased one for my fathers laptop as well and its the exact same issue, so I know its not my laptop.įor reference, my laptop was 100% when I started writing this review, and its already down to 84%. If you email OWC support, they'll just continue to say its your laptop settings and refuse to acknowledge the battery is just garbage. I would recommend just sticking with the old apple battery or paying the extra price for them to replace. When the computer is locked I still lose a significant amount of battery life.
A couple months after installing (I hardly use my laptop so didn't try it out until after the return timeframe), and its already losing 20% within 30 minutes of use. The installation video and accessories were great, but the actual battery is horrible.
